Ace Against the Odds: Photography

Yet another hobby of mine is taking pictures. Some of them have been taken on my phone or a borrowed DSLR, but recently I have started shooting with my new Nikon D7000! I am posting some of my portfolio shots; some from before I started photography class and others during. Keep checking back for more pictures!

Welcome!

First things first: Here's the disclaimer you need to get the most out of this site. Just because there is a post or page about a particular thing, dosn't mean I have accomplished it! You come here to watch me work toward my goals and learn lessons along the way. Yes, I fight the odds, particularly the resources of money and time, but there is much more to it than that. I am in the process of trying to understand the world, and how to make changes in it.

You will probably get some good laughs as a share what I learn, and if you have any suggestions or ideas, or think you could help me in any of my objectives, I welcome the support. One of my biggest lessons so far is that I can't do everything alone! Believe me, I've tried it and it does not work! Lastly, if I seem a little crazy at times, that's because I am. Please bear with me; I believe life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.

What's this all about?

Throughout the history of aviation the term "ace" has been attributed to those pilots who have achieved five or more victories over enemy planes in combat. I have often wondered what really "made" an ace; was it pure luck, good training, or determination?

My life at present is one great quest to gain experience and skills to serve God and others, and as expeted, difficutlies abound. So far I have bumbled through many things and still don't have most of the answers I'm looking for. It often suprises me that I have gotten this far without having any idea what I'm doing! God must have my back, and this is the reason you are on this site.

Just like the aviators of old, I am faced with a battle. Not just in trying to become a pilot, but in everything I do it seems the odds are stacked against me. "I may never zoom o'er the enemy" shooting down enemy aircraft, but I have plenty of obstacles between me and my objective. The key is not to "bail out", but to pick them off one by one. Hard work and grit will get you far, and within the will of God, an Ace against the Odds can never be shot down.
